Reason for selling: Need some spondulla
Re: Hi guys and galsso this is why all those crappy dualy's get returned.. people think you can ride dh on them??
(i work there)
Re: Hi guys and galsHaha, yea tried to return it two days after I bought it coz things were falling apart lol they wouldn't give me a refund rather decided to send it to there "bike mechanic" aka *censored* ^%$# and the bike came back in worse condition than ever, rode it out to car and found the headset was loose &%@#! nearly put me on my a$$
I replaced the rear freewheel hub with a cassette hub, sram cassette, sram chain, machined up real shock for rear on lathe (factory shock inside spring is fake) fitted sealed bearings in b-bracket and packed front forks and head tube with grease and re-trued front wheel. Now it is as tough as nails, everything else is breaking, broke 2 alloy drink holders, 1 saddle bag, today I had an unopened in box tube of puncture glue fail and spill everywhere. all from the vibration and jumps etc but the bike is taking it really well In the future ill put a set of xt derailers and chain rings on it but for now it is going real strong. Only downside is its heavy (steel frame) , good down but hard yakka going back up again tho it is getting me fit again i guess haha. The plus side, well it owes me around 500 bux so im not worried about scratching it and giving it a hard time, and it has proven more reliable and stronger than my old 2500 dollar bike (alloy frame broke and i hit the deck All in all I think it has made a half decent bike that is adequate for dh happy riding
Re: Hi guys and galsLOL
Re: Hi guys and gals
Way to encourage a fellow MTB rider.. Justin, good to hear you're making the most of the bike. My best recommendation would be to replace the frame, you can pick up and upland or equivalent for <$50 and it will be lighter and feel alot better than a K-mart frame. Will you take to the hills?
Re: Hi guys and galsyea maybe, be pushin it to get something decent for the 500 or so this one owes me i would think.
Main reason i fixed this one up a bit was because it had just cost me around the 200 dollar mark, couldnt get a refund and if id just binned the bike id have lost the 200 it cost me to buy it. Had i known what I learnt soon after buying it then no i wouldn't have bought it. it looked 'ok' for the price at the time.
Re: Hi guys and galsYeah man I hear you...I think it should be illegal to sell those pieces of s@#t. One day they will get sued a lot of money for the substandard bikes they sell.
Hope you keep enjoying the riding!
