Walker damage trevallyn

G'day all

For all of you that ride trevallyn regulary(sp?) you would be familiar with "postmans track".

Some walkers have decided to lay sticks/rocks accros this trail in VERY dangerous spots (eg. just around blind corners, rocks in the middle of the trail in rockgardens so that they are camoflouged.) The have upturned the highlight (failry decent drop/jump) and have proceeeded to lay rocks and stick at fairly regular intervals all the way up the trail. although, strangely, not at trail heads.

This WAS NOT the ranger, as i don't think he would lay sticks like this and would have errected something official such as track closed sign or something fairly big as an obstruction at the top of the trail. this has not been done.

Most of the rocky stepdowns and jumps has been moved and strewn in the surrounding bush, and this leads me to think that these walkers were old grannies upset as many of the rocks used in these jumps were of a reasnoble size, i would only just manage to lift them by myself.

The track is only fairly new, possibly was bedded in before the winter, but not much before. It is obviously a very well used bike track as you can see from all the tyre prints and many sections such as the downramp for the jump/drop is faily difficult to walk up - especially if there is a litle bit of moisture in it. I don't understand why they would pick on that particular track as i don't think many people would walk on it or bother to...

it is one of the best tracks up in trevallyn at the moment as it is quite smooth and once it dries out will be one the fastest i'm sure. So, if you see any walkers fucking stuff up there and purposefully leaving stuff on the tracks dangerously. i am quite happy to give you permission to punch them in the face and explain to them why what they are doing is dangerous and can only make worse walker/rider relations. that saidI for one have met heaps of walkers up there who are friendly, and interested in what we do, an quite often hav a good chat to them... must just be a few fools who think they are god and have the right to take the law upon themsleves.

Edit: this isn't the first time this has happend either, moneypenny and i had to fix up many of the rock jumps on other tracks just a few weeks ago. and i know that Jays when he was riding almost had a serious injury when on of the jumps was ruined/partially removed

The steep track got trashed once every 2 weeks I reckon!

Bit of a pain when you need to spend half an hour taking shit off the track. Kosi got cained by these traps a couple of times now, once on the zig zag track, they laid sticks after a fairly quick drop off, and when they ripped down the old wooden bridge on the old track up there, came round the corner absoloutly flying and managed to skid under the log luckily..

As I read on here maybe its called Eco-terrorism and is a pretty serious offense!
