Dear DH riders and supporters,
The long awaited Dirt Devils AGM was held last Monday and a new Executive Committee & General Committee has been elected. We are incredibly fortunate to have a DH rider, Simon French, as the new President of the Dirt Devils.
I was elected DH Coordinator - with promised support in this role from Tony Press and Craig Saunders and hopefully lots of other people.
I understand that the Downhill riders are very keen to get together and discuss the forthcoming season's calendar and a few winter ride days.
I would like to call a DH meeting on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 7pm at 245 Howden Rd Howden.
This meeting will :
1. review the organisation of last season's DH events;
2. discuss how we can make things better this season;
3. delegate roles to make it happen; and,
4. formulate a list of events we'd like to run so that these events can be accommodated into a state-wide mtb program that minimises clashes with other state and national events.
5. discuss junior development and coaching opportunities
If you would like to see a DH calendar of events this season and are willing to make it happen please make the effort to attend this meeting.
I will then take the results of this meeting back to a Dirt Devils & LMBC Committee meeting where we will formulate a state-wide calendar of mtb events. MTBA will soon be announcing the dates for a National Series and these dates will be taken into account when we finalise our state-wide calendar.
Everyone is welcome. I know it will be hard for many of our northern DH riders to attend this June 8 meeting but it would be good to receive your thoughts on the 5 dot points above in a reply email.
