out of curiousity, whats the difference between a timed run and a race?

Dont be so sure of yourself, I made coming last in the vets an art form last season and forget the number of times I was passed. That said, I've hung up the Reign for a proper bike (Glory - unique, I know), so we might have a race on...!

Pretty sure a timed run day will entail practice/coaching in the morning and then a simple timed run, basically only for your own benifits as it's not serious, but of course you could treat it as a race.

Hi,
A Timed Run is exactly the same thing as a club race. Apologies for the confusion. We will be posting your time's on the Dirt Devils website after the event.

The aim of the Ride Days and Timed Runs (or Club Races) - as opposed to the DH State Series and Championships - is to allow an extended practice time with the more experienced riders supporting and coaching the newer riders. We are hoping that this opportunity will draw more DH riders into the sport and build our female riding ranks - so please spread the word. The Timed Run in the afternoon is offered to provide the experienced riders with a race (which they have asked for) and less experienced riders the opportunity of experiencing a start, riding the full track without interruption and a finish time that they can use as a milestone for their own PB times.

Ian inspected the track yesterday and did some maintenance - it is in pretty good order but he did report that there has been a couple of wash-outs so if you are practicing there this weekend take a long handled shovel! I will ask Josh and his riding friends to attend to this too.

Don't forget to bring your parents, friends and partners to help with marshalling.

We are also looking for volunteers for the timed run, so if your parents or friends can help out we can make the timed run happen. See Cathy or Tony at Registration on Sunday to volunteer (the timed run can't happen without volunteers).

Dude it shouldn't matter as long as it looks in good shape (ie, no visible cracks or marks). You may have to confirm this with Cathy (the race organiser) but it's only at the nationals do they really have a look at helmets.
