Directions and notes

The Ridgley spillway is a cement wall ride that snakes down about 250 meters.

The walls are about 6 to 8 feet high on both sides with a 6 meter transition. Really f....king cool fun. It is rideable all summer and early autumn. to best view using Google maps use the "satellite" setting.

Directions: Take Mount Rd from the centre of Burnie all the way up to the town of Ridgley. Follow the sweeping bend around to the left passed a service station/bakery on the opposite side of the road. As you head down the hill take the first left called circular road, you will pass over some railway tracks (30 meters after turn off). The spillway is about 350 meters down the road directly opposite a house on an almost 90 degree left hand corner. There is a large convex mirror for traffic purposes on that corner. There is a gate with appropriate warnings. Ignore. Enter.

Suggestions: if you can, take a flat nose shovel and yard broom as transitions can get a little mossy as things get closer to winter. Take knee/elbow pads unless stupidly hardcore.
